Casa Grande is OK. It is on the outskirts of the Phoenix metro area and is in the development path. A slew of less expensive homes have gone up there in the past couple years and attracted people to the area. It's above "working class" now but not what I would call an affluent community. Schools are in transition along with the town.

The main issue living there would be commute times and access to Phoenix as you are not likely going to find a job there.

AZ City has not "arrived" yet. It is even further down the road. Might be a good place for retirement but I would choose CG over it any day.

As I've stated in several posts today, Casa Grande, Coolidge, Florence, and Maricopa are not the places to go. Why are you thinking you would like to move there? If it's the cost, look at growing cities in the Phoenix metro area. Goodyear has some great deals as does west Surprise.

Just wondering why? is it because of the crime rate there? thanks, Gabby

Default Quality of Life in Casa Grande

jco,

I'm wondering why you feel so negative about Casa Grande? What direct experience do you have with this place that makes you so authoritative about the quality of life here?

We moved here two years ago because my husband got a six figure job in Stanfield. You are seriously underestimating the value of the culture and convenience here. The secret of how special this place is part of it's charm.

Nice Nice Baby! is on a distinguished road
I lived there for 6 years and found out that it was not a place for a young transplant who has no family. Very little night life and few peers to hang out with. Go where you find these two things or commute. You will find more affordability and you will have to travel for weekend entertainment possibly.
