Ahh, but of course, the National Park Service. Sorry about that. I only remember Navajos working there and thought it was exclusively a Navajo National monument, but understand that they could be involved with NPS. Have done the entire monument of Keet Seel and Betatakin and really enjoyed it. They are indeed supurb condition prehistoric structures. Hiked in one day and hiked out the next. Have also camped a number of times at the top camp grounds. I would still suggest living in Page as it is very difficult to find living quarters on the reservation. If this works out for you, it is a beautiful area and you will enjoy it. If you ever get the chance, look for Three Turkey Ruins outside of Canyon de Chelly.
