When will they reopen Schnebly Hill Road?
I couldn't find anything about it on AZDOT's site. I rode up there last weekend, planning to take Schnebly Hill Rd. from I-17 to Sedona and it was closed. I couldn't even fit my bike around the gate. I really want to check this road out. When does it reopen?

Probably it's like any other seasonable road; it's open when it's passable. After the snow melts, and grading and repairs are made, it's open. The exact timing would depend on weather and possibly even scheduling and budgets.
You can get a fair ways in on Schnebly from Sedona if you want to check it out now though. You obviously just can't get all the way to the top.

Part of Schnebly Hill Rd would have to remain open as people live there year round.

Well, I mean the Rt. 153 part that's right off I-17. There was a gate down with a closed sign and no way around it. Road looked fine to me for bikes or other offroad vehicles. I've definitely ridden on much worse roads that were open.

The issue isn't at the bottom near the 17. I believe it goes straight-up into the mountains from there where it's bound to be much, much worse. As in snow and/or mud. Even your bike wouldn't like that. |

Actually I17 is at the top. The bottom starts at SR 179 near where it crosses Oak Creek at Tlaquepaque. |
