Default Thinking About Driving Cab in Phoenix AZ

I was thinking about driving cab in Phoenix AZ. I know of 2 large companies which are Discount and Yellow Cab.

I know the east side very well but live in the NW Valley. I am told you can make $100 - $200 a day driving cab. That is about all I know. Right now, I have 30 + Applications out for my field of work and no bites. I am starting to believe we are in an economic downturn. I was not buying it before but now I am feeling it.

I would definitely purchase a good GPS if I do this. Can anyone give me any tips or advise about driving cab in Phoenix? Pros and Cons?

Any advice is appreciated.

Hundreds of cabbies are killed throughout the United States in robberies and plain thrill kills. Its a rather dangerous profession.
