Default What does it take to make a dirt bike street legal in AZ?

I want a dirt bike, but don't have a truck or trailer to cart it around to the trails. So I need to keep it street legal. Aside from emissions, since I live in Phoenix, what must the bike have or pass to be street legal? Headlight, horn, mirror, min. engine displacement?

Check out this website..it has a bunch of FAQ that should answer your question.
New OHV regulations in Arizona will go into effect Jan. 1, 2009

If that doesn't answer your question then call the dmv or go to their website to see if they have your answer. Here is the dmv website
Motor Vehicle Division

Good luck with the dirt bike..lots of cheap ones in Phoenix on craigslist

I read this somewhere else, this is what is required to make an OHV street legal in AZ:
Brakes on both wheels
Headlight with hi/lo beam
Turn signals that work
Brake lights that are triggered by the brakes
Has to be 4 stroke
Needs street tires

I believe you also need a horn and you have to register it and get a license plate.

I know to register ATVs, you also need a rearview mirror. Wouldn't surprise me if motorcycles needed one as well.
