Peoria or Glendale over GILBERT? Is it the Mexican drop houses or all the random kilings out there that you like best?
LOL

You certainly don't know much about Peoria. North Peoria is a very nice, newer part of Peoria and has some great developments like West Wing, Vistancia, Sonoran Mountain Ranch. We have Lake Pleasant for boaters and people who like to fish.

You should probably take a peek at the Crime stats before you just go giving people BAD info.

Crime has nothing to do with it, the area is full of wanna be gangsters, religious zealots, and white trash. The area is not very appealing in any way.
The info is not bad just because you may not agree with it.

As an outsider and frequent visitor to Phoenix, my view of the "westside" has changed a lot over the years. I used to think that if/when we relocated to Phoenix, it would be to NE or SE, but our scope has broadened considerably.
My folks bought a house recently in Goodyear (north of I-10 off the Litchfield Rd. exit) and they absolutely love it. Nice safe neighborhood, convenient to shopping/amenities, lots of biking/walking paths, etc. Got an amazing deal too, about 50% off of what the house had sold for a few years earlier.
Sorry to hear that others in here had such a terrible experience with "the westside", but not everyone has the same experiences I suppose.
Phoenix is sort of odd in that there seems to be really nice areas and some not-so-nice areas no matter where you go (almost - S. Phoenix seems a bit worse overall, but again maybe that's just my perception). In other cities that I familiar with (Portland and Cleveland come to mind), the "good" and "bad" areas of town are better defined. Must have something to do with the fast growth in AZ(?)...

Yes, I used to live in Gilbert, I have lived all over Arizona, and the East Valley is easily the worst.

It has been quite a while though since you have lived in the east valley - is this correct?
