I have been in Arizona for two years I can't wait to get back to the East Coast. This summer is going to be amazing!

I'm sweating already in NC in 82 degrees, I think I like my dry 120 in the shade and 130 in my car better than this humidity.

Average highs for Boston in the summer are the 70's.

The summers here in Arizona killed me. The heat and sun beating down all day, everyday was WAY too much for me. I will be happy with a cooler summer, with some clouds every once and awhile.

70's that sounds pretty nice. I wish you the best of luck. I'm hot and humid but I love Charlotte! The mornings and afternoons are so nice. I just want to be outside all the time. I can't take my eyes off the green. I guess I was green starved.

That's understandable. I moved out here from the Washington DC area. I had dogwoods and other flowering trees right off my balcony. I used to be able to sit out there every morning and watch the trees and birds while I drank my coffee.

When I first moved here the desert was interesting. I still find the cactus neat, but the dust and dirt has really worn on me. It is really killing my throat and allergies; much worse than anything I every experienced back east.

Enjoy yourself in the Carolinas. I love it down there. If you haven't been to Asheville yet, go. Also, hit Nags Head over the summer. Very relaxing. Finally, this fall make sure to drive into the mountains to see the foliage; the Smokies, Blue Ridge Parkway, and farther north in VA Skyline Drive are amazing.

Yes we drove through Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway I'm getting chills thinking about. My husband was in the car ahead as we were driving and he was so excited from the scenery he started to speed and was stopped by the cops. I'm telling you when we hit that area of NC it was like a religious experience, what a beautuful, beautiful place.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I do appreciate them. I agree also about the allergies in AZ compared to the east. My husband suffered horribly in AZ compared to NY and so far so good in NC.

I'm excited for you, keep us posted on how things are going.

I spent a week in Boston in July and it was the absolute worst weather that I have ever experienced. I walked out of the airport and I was hit with 95 degrees and 95 % humidity. This was after dark. During the day we went to eat and there were people who would start their cars in front of the restaurant and then stand in the shade and wait for the car to cool off before driving away. I lived in Milwaukee at the time and now I live in Arizona, but I'll never forget Boston weather!

Yea, there is a rare day that you might get a hot day. But we are talking average.

There might be a few cool summer days in Phoenix (and cool is relative) but that doesn't mean the average is not 105+.

I am not nit picking when I say don't listen to averages! We were told that Green Valley, AZ averages about 75 in summer, but we have times when it is 100+ for 30 days at a time! The best place to check on present temps and forecasts is the weather underground because it can list any city you want and it is updated every few minutes. I put in the city I want and then bookmark the results and then put in another city and bookmark (favorites) those results. You can then go back and forth and see the real difference up to the minute and what is coming. Here is that link; http://www.wunderground.com Hope this helps you with REAL-TIME temps.

irwin,

Are you ready for the Boston winters as well? It's going to be quite a difference from AZ i'm sure.

I've been to MA, but never Boston. I was born & rasied in CT. I'm going to have to go back for a visit...in the summertime though for me

Uh...temps can change for any given day, but the averages are there for a reason...THEY ARE THE AVERAGE. They reflect the average temperature for any given period.

Current temps are only relevant to me if I am living there. That's what the Weather Channel is for.
