Boston winters are bad. Arizona summers are bad.
Take the good with the bad.

Boston is a city, which I like and is the main reason I am moving there (and the jobs I am interested in are more plentiful and pay loads more).

I could see myself living in Boston for awhile and then maybe eventually moving to a smaller New England town, assuming I could find a job! I love cities and I love the history. But I also love the little hamlets in New England. Who knows though? One step at a time for me...

We left Phoenix 16 years ago for Las Vegas, it's been great, made a helluva lot of money here. We will retire in about 5-6 years and it's North To Alaska for us. Been to Alaska several times and we cannot wait to become residents up there.

Yea, this definately is a kind of unusual question but its not a bad one.
First of all, you wouldnt have to 'boot' me out, if the opportunity opened up I would do so without fighting about it, lol.
There are a few places I would choose. Maybe not in order, but there is Ala., Ok, Wi, Calif, Wa, or maybe even back to Delaware. Of all places, I've had people ask me 'why Delaware...?!' I have friends/relatives in those states so it wouldnt be like Id be too lost.
Weather comes with the territory and people have told me I wouldnt endure one winter in some of those places, but never underestimate the power of will. All the more reason to challenge what they say and prove them wrong.
Actually theres nothing wrong with Boston, either. Though the cost of living is double what it would take in Calif, the wages match it, for the most part. I have friends in Quincy and they wont come back to Az now for anything in the world.

WOW! Talk about a 180 degree change! Good luck, Alaska is a GREAT PLACE, most beautiful scenery in the USA, probably all North America.

My top cities would be: Charlotte, Austin, San Diego, and my hometown of Santa Rosa, Ca. I'm just "stuck" here in AZ and if I wasn't "married with children" I would definately NOT be here!!! I want to leave so bad but this is home for my kids and really, my husband likes it here. So, I put up with it and for now it's where I call home. I don't hate it anymore, but I don't love it either...plus I have NO family here
