Question for AZ residents:
If you were all of the sudden kicked out and banned from Arizona, what state would you move to? Why? I know, random question huh? |

Well, we're thinking of NC, but who knows! Overall, we'd leave for cleaner air, a lower cost of living (I know, transplants think it's low not, but not for natives!), better schools, lower crime, and if God called us out. I think the air is the biggest issue for us right now. My husband has been miserable lately. Apparently NC isn't always the best for asthma and allergies, so who knows where we'll end up.

I'm moving to New Hampshire later this year for:
- Lower taxes - Smaller, less intrusive government - More local control of government (New England town meetings) - Better climate for small businesses (see above) - Better place to raise a family - Better lifestyle in general - Water |

Well, as soon as we can get things together here we are moving to TEXAS! I can't wait to get there. It's green (although mostly flat), alot of very nice people, low cost of living and even though the humidity is a lot higher in Texas, the actual heat isn't near as brutal as it is here (but some people cannot handle the humidity). I also love the Texas Pride they have going on! I love to hear people that are proud of where they are from and are loyal to their heritage no matter what others might say!

Cali....temperate climate, Pacific OCEAN, higher wages, not anti-worker like AZ (Right To Starve law written by business), more diverse economy (not heavily weighted toward land development like here), people actually on street in summer, news at 11.
But I like Phoenix though it is doomed by its proximity to LA/SoCal to remaining a secondary metro. Much like Philly will always be in NYC,my original hometown's, shadow. Last edited by IceZombie; 04-10-2007 at 01:03 AM. |

If you said before, I forgot: where in TX are you going? One thing to remember when you get there: Texas is more than just a state! The Texas Constitution Article 1 - BILL OF RIGHTS Section 1 - FREEDOM AND SOVEREIGNTY OF STATE Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States, and the maintenance of our free institutions and the perpetuity of the Union depend upon the preservation of the right of local self-government, unimpaired to all the States. Section 2 - INHERENT POLITICAL POWER; REPUBLICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit. The faith of the people of Texas stands pledged to the preservation of a republican form of government, and, subject to this limitation only, they have at all times the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient. |

It will not be Florida. We are looking at Texas in May, but so far we have found that property taxes and homeowners insurance are quite a bit higher than AZ. I think we have found our last spot right here.

I just moved from Gilbert to NC, seems lot so Phoenicians are doing the same. I'm completely overwhelmed by the trees the green the colors. I have been in Phoenix too long I guess. I can't stop looking around and admiring all the different colors of things and the tall trees it's so lush. To me it feels like I'm in a virtual reality here. I'ts kind of like driving through the old neighborhoods on Central where they have the big trees and you don't feel like you are in the desert. Well it feels like that here everywhere. I had a little allergy problem in Feb for a couple of weeks and now whatever was bothering me stopped. I remember I had an allergy problem when I came in June last year. When I came in August I had no problem. I guess it just depends whats blooming. My husband has had no allergies so far and his allergies were horrible in AZ. He had to get shots. I'm sure something will start bothering him here soon as we approach Summer. Anyway we haven't seen the big brown cloud that hovers over Phoenix yet in NC. I'd go back to Montana to be near my family. The mountains there are very beautiful and I like small towns, but the cost of living vs. wages in the areas I'd like to live is crazy, even compared to PHX standards.
