There's very little news about it yet. I actually heard about it on the LOS ANGELES TIMES website this AM. It was on there and on MSNBC for a few hours before it ever went up on azcentral. They must keep strange hours over there on the weekend.
Whatever happened, I feel badly for whoever the party was for. Sad way to have to remember your graduation.

The horrible violent crime is why I dont like living here, and I'm looking forwayd so much to moving back to the Midwest. Phoenix has by far the highest crime rate of any place I've ever lived. Phoenix definately deserves its Wild West reputation. Its seems that people here just dont think B4 they act. They just pull out a gun and use it whenever someone pisses them off. I think the oppressive heat here has ruined people's brains and their ability (or lack thereof) to think. DISGUSTING.

Please just GO, SOON, so we can stop having your personal brand of whatever spread all over this forum (of course, you are all over other state's forums (including the midwest ones) with your "expertise", so you'll probably still be here after you leave). What happened last night can happen ANYWHERE.

My wife works at Maricopa County Hospital and said the suspect in the shooting was not being cooperative when he arrived to the hospital. I personally saw six squad cars going at least 70 mph on Alma School passing Southern and couldn't figure out why they would be going so fast. I figured, the only reason, was if one of their own was in danger. Sure enough that's what happened. My wife also mentioned that a police officer died last night. But from what I heard, no officer died, just was wounded in the arm.

Excuse me, but perhaps unlike you, I've lived in more than one state and am knowledgable about such. Apparantly you have lived here your whole life and dont know any better. I dont know. But dont bash my opinions and knowledge. This is hard for native people here to hear, but not everybody likes AZ for personal reasons or whatever. Get used to it. This country doesnt revolve around AZ. This forum is for people to speak their opinions/knowledge about places, and that I will do.
Now, if I can continue. Based on my experience, I easily prefer the Midwest over Arizona for personal reasons. This state isnt for everybody. For me, its what I mentioned in my above posts. There's no reason to be so defensive. When Arizonans get so defensive about people not liking their state, it makes me wonder if they have inferiority issues or something. CHILL.

So go away......please....we know that the world doesnt revovle around AZ and we know that we have our share of problems here....one of them being transplants from other areas who are constantly griping and moaning about how bad it is here and how much better it is wherever they came from.....if it is so much better than WHY DID YOU LEAVE IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!!!!!!!!!!
So please go away. go back to whatever icebound, rustbelt, run down area that spawned you.......and GOOD RIDDANCE!!

Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but the same "horrible violent crime" happens back here in the Midwest and is increasing in frequency, just like everywhere else. Just yesterday in Toledo there was a home invasion in which three people, one of which was a child, were shot for no good reason and the shooter was then shot and killed by the Toledo police. There has also been a string of break-ins in which elderly people, some in their upper 80s, have been severely beaten or killed, when the attackers could have easily subdued them physically and robbed them without beating/killing them. What kind of slimebucket beats a little old lady to death? I won't even get into the crime stats for Chicago or Detroit.
You can't avoid crime. There is no region of the U.S. that doesn't have violent crime. The problems that cause it, such as joblessness, the breakdown of the nuclear family, and drug abuse, don't exist in a tiny bubble in Arizona.

Glad to know that the midwest has no crime, and observes all of the Ten Commandments! I was wondering where that perfectly pristine and absolutely sanitary utopia was. Thanks for enlightening us poor oppressed people, krock! Great user name, by the way! Have a good trip back!

Bad things happen everywhere, that is a sad fact of life. I do have to say that the child abuse statistics out here are outrageous, and the drownings are inexcusable. I know that has nothing to do with the original post, I can just see how someone might think that there is more crime in not necessarily Arizona as a whole but Phoenix.
