Show low weather
Hello, I'm newly registered but a long time observer. We live in Bullhead during the winter and are thinking about Show low for the summer. I would like to get the take on summer weather there. For instance, are there a lot of cloudy days, wind (is it hard, often and which direction does it usually blow from), rain, heat, etc. I have looked over the posts, as well as the current weather report, and have a vague idea, but I would really appreciate an input from someone who is living it. We now summer in Mich. but the clouds and humidity are starting to become a drag. Thanks

70s to 80s for highs, when the monsoon season comes and one of those thunderstorms passes through, it will drop the temp 10 degrees or more, good rain shower with each of those. Nice and cool at night. Wind is really not an issue, except with the storms. Not a lot of cloudy days, as the storms generally form in the late morning or afternoon, and pass through on their way west.

There are days that could hit in 90s during the summer so you may want to consider a house with a A/C or at least lots of shade

Yes has been in the 90's, but that is relatively uncommon (actually, the record high is 100-- not sure when or how often that happened) and if a rainstorm doesn't pass through to cool it off, it cools off at night a lot. A/C would be a plus to deal with those days, as would ceiling fans, etc. Shade is easier to come by there than down in the Valley, too!

I loved living in the Show Low area during the summer. (Located just west of Vernon, east of Show Low). Mild summer temps and very predictable afternoon rainstorms. . . delightful!

Thank you very much for your input. The more I know about an area in advance allows me to make a more sound judgement. I once bought a house (my first) on the north side of the street and I only could use the back yard. The normal winds came from the S.W. and I rarely got a breeze in that back yard.

I lived in Show Low for a few years Like other have mentioned, it can get into the 90's but not often and not for a long stretch...usually it is in the 80s with afternoon storms. You can go without central AC depending on your tolerance and shade...we had a mobile home with a covered front porch which helped keep out the sun, and lots of pine trees for shade. We did not have central AC. My ex did install a window unit AC in the living room and that cooled the house off just fine (the other rooms had fans, so with them running and the doors open the entire house cooled off). The house was about 1200sqft.
I'm a bit homesick now, lol!
