We're visitors from Newfoundland, Canada.
Sunday afternoon May 24th my wife and I were enroute to Las Vegas from Phoenix on US-93 when we ran into a roadblock caused by a crash about 15 miles east of the The Hoover Dam. We turned around to take alternate route 95 via Golden Valley and stopped at the Maverick Service Station for fuel. While there I asked one of the ladies if there was a pay phone I could use to advise people we were running late. They very kindly insisted we use their cellphone and adamanently refused compensation.
We Newfoundlanders are renowned for our hospitality. Believe me, we could have done no better than the two ladies in question here. We thank them and trust this will express our appreciation for their courtesies.
(If there is a print media in Golden Valley I would appreciate it if someone would give me their blog so I can publicly acknowledge their good deed there.)
