Default help me out here

Hi folks

I've been reading the info on the different cities in az. My husband is applying for a nursing job in Casa Grande.

I'm feeling kinda mentally thick right now. From what I think I've read Casa Grande is not a good place to raise a young family. Is this correct?
Thanks
Ohio mom

Personally I have to agree with you Mom. I would not want to raise children in Casa Grande. It’s not the town for younger families, and there isn’t as many activities for kids to keep busy with. My thoughts would be to think about Tucson or Phoenix metro areas.

From my experience, there are some very bad areas around the old downtown, but apparently there are some nicer new areas. Forum member "desertjewel" may be able to help you.

City of Maricopa is 20 minutes from the I-10 south of Chandler/Phoenix and then you’re looking for another 30 minutes to get into Phoenix area. If it rains the highway from I-10 to City of Maricopa is underwater and you can’t drive it. City of Maricopa is being developed and there are new housing areas going up with low priced homes. This is an area where if you don’t have to drive into the metro area then fine, however as the city grows and traffic is increased there will be an hour commute each way to City of Maricopa and the traffic in/out of Phoenix is at a stop on I-10 most of the time during rush hour. It may be a good place to retire but there isn’t anything else there for a while.

The dust blows all the time, the flies and the smell of the cattle seems to be constant, I don’t think the City of Maricopa is ready for growth yet. It’s a bedroom community where you need to stay inside all the time.

I don’t mean to be negative but this is just “one person’s opinion”! I’ve seen too much of this area and would never live there. NEVER!

First of all this is advertising. Secondly, I don't believe how it could only be 15-20 minutes to CG?????? Are you serious????

There are nursing jobs all over greater Phoenix -- actually, there is a nursing shortage right now. Any particular reason why you are choosing Casa Grande? You could probably do much better in Chandler, Mesa, or Scottsdale for a good nursing job.

Nice Nice Baby! is on a distinguished road
Sablebaby, all you need to do is take the Maricopa-Casa Grande highway and time it! Bridog is right on with it being 15 minutes from Casa Grande, though I think it's 25 minutes from Chandler with no traffic. Depends how you drive. Bridog's statement is the same advertising as any one else on these posts. Not sure of any of his other postings though.

I have heard that Maricopa is a growing community of young families. Casa Grande scares me a little bit.
