SCOTTSDALE, AZ - to any locals, need info.

I lived in Scottsdale for 13 years and would move back there tomorrow if it weren't for my husband's job! I LOVE it and MISS it! We just left there last August. We lived near the 101 and Chaparral which did not have the 'snobby' feel at all. I came across that feel occasionally when I went to Fashion Square, but not often. There are sketchy low income areas, middle income, and high income (north Scottsdale). I can't believe what a bad rap the city in general gets though. The people I've heard make comments are the people who didn't even live in the city.

There are tons of things to do with kids! It's easy to get around on the freeways, so it's no problem to go downtown or to Tempe, etc.

I loved the summers! The day my daughter was born it was 116! I would take that over the cold winters any day. The winters did get chilly in my opinion. 50's-60'2 during the day and cooler at night. I still got to wear winter clothes, I just didn't need all the boots, gloves, scarves, etc!!

I'm so envious! We're going back in October for my husband's commencement and I told him to keep a close eye on me so I don't stay behind there!!!

It doens't look good for Prada. If SF and SoHo can't support the boutiques, who knows if Scottsdale could. (Of course, NYC has three other Prada boutiques...)

Is CH Carolina Herrera the lower-priced line? That seems like a really odd choice for Scottsdale. What about Armani, or Chanel, anything on those boutiques?

Haha, I've emailed the Westcor Leasing Department for Fashion Square.

CH Carolina Herrera is their more mainstream RTW brand. Its priced similar to D&G.

I wouldn't be surprised if Armani and Chanel open within the next 2 years. Saks and Neiman's biggest selling brands are those two.

I e-mailed Westcor as well, and I was told "Unfortunately, we cannot comment on stores whose leases have not been finalized." So, I still hope that your information is correct.

Meanwhile, they have announced CH Carolina Herrera.
