I've really enjoyed reading everyone's opinion, especially the locals who seem to really like their town. We're considering opening up a barbeque restaraunt as well as a recycling business. We're both eco-conscious and love the outdoors. (I know, eco-conscious and bbq...oh well we have ideas to balance the two). Our daughter is college-bound but hasn't made her mind up where to go.
Any relocation tips, statistics, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I sure hope you have successful real business experience and business experience in selling these products/services. And in a city/town with the population of Kingman. Otherwise you're wasting time and money.

And as stated above, Kingman has had some very interesting characters living there - and I don't mean Andy Devine.

Hey there Kdog, good advice about the school system. I for one don't have any kids in school, so that is an good out for me. I have love Arizona for all of my 54 years and Kingman has been the major part of the love. I have family in BHC but don't want to live on top of them, just close enough to stop by and say hi.
I thought about the Dolan area and did some digging and it is not a place that I want to call home. So here I am going to stay in the Golden Valley/Kingman area. Even might look at Mohave Valley, All up to the question on what house I like better.
I am a desert rat and have been one all my life. And if you can handle the weather to which, Kingman is not as hot as PHX,BHC, LH. You will love it like I will.

I'm in the process of moving to Kingman, just waiting for my house to close. Have you checked out Quartzsite? If you can take the heat it's a good place to start. Very inexpensive living. I am selling my park model here, if interested, PM me.
