Good point, Mike.
I believe you are allowed to request a plate you had on a previous vehicle, however, I do not believe you would ever receive a plate previously issued to a destroyed or relocated vehicle.
Any guesses on how many vehicles fall into that last category? I bet a humongous number.

My present car's license plate was on a prior vehicle that I owned as well.

Only pic I have on my hard drive is this one from last year. My 34 is the second one back with the spindle mount wheels. The black 23 was a friends we built for him, and is now finished and gone, and yes there is a blue 23 behind it too, lol.

Awesome. What a great hobby. That '23 even has disk brakes, I'm thinking those aren't original.
Will you build me one too, 'Chop?

This is probably a silly question, but is it possible to re-register an old license plate that hasn't been used for a long time?
I have a friend who lives in Flagstaff and he mentioned this past weekend that he likes the old red and white plates with the saguaro between the digits. I actually have one of these plates from an old vehicle and would send it to him if he could register it.
It's funny that I came across this topic because he mentioned that he has one of the last six-digit (current) plates and was talking about the change to the flat seven-digit plate this past weekend.

You should be able to register any plate that is free and clear. Problem with the DMV though, if you go ask 5 people in there, 4 will tell you that you can't. The 5th will go tap, tap, tap on the keyboard and say "sign this".

Impressive, IChop.
Once you finish with Kdog's . . . I'll let you build one for me.
