Great Pictures! Can't wait for that beauty to be finished. I'm shooting on driving over it the first day it's open!

Does anyone know how much time the bypass will save if you are traveling from Phoenix to Nevada?

crossing the dam now, between where the new roads will start and end, can take between 30 minutes and 2-3 hours....
so that much time will be saved when the new bridge opens

Quite true. I've actually turned back and gone home when I've seen how long the backup was.
Here's another shot taken more recently and almost a month later than the first two shots. Funny, there's not much visible progress.
Incidently, I've had a lot of requests for prints of these shots, so I've made them available to purchase at very reasonable prices. PM me if you're interested.

That's very dramatic ! Not sure I will be going over it. I am not a wuss. I am concerned with what happens if there is a big pile up because some tourist decides that's it's ok to stop, and take pictures. I just hope helicopters don't fly under it, or a bungee daredevil doesn't try to get on Fox News.

Hey, thanks for the thread bump, Stuck'.
Yeah, that's at the Hoover Dam, right on the Arizona/Nevada border. Maybe 70 miles from Kingman. That bridge is part of the bypass around the dam which will greatly speed up our commute into Vegas (and the airport). It is AMAZING, as is the dam. And yes, there are walking paths, tours, parking areas, museums, gift shops, etc, there.

I'm headed to Vegas tomorrow and will be going through Laughlin to avoid the dam. It's gonna be nice weather and full of tourists midday. No thanks. The extra 30 miles will take less time than the dam.
