I love Estrella Mountain Ranch. I was one that thought it would be the next Scottsdale. I remember as a young Realtor telling everybody that It's not Scottsdale but it's a nice place. Do you have a lake lot? |

The lot was small and we wanted more private space. I sure miss the view, though. We are one row back from the lake, on a desert preserve now, so it takes only a minute to get to the lakes. You would not believe all the homes out here now. Many of the custom homes would rival N. Scottsdale, but in spite of all the Mercedes, BMWs and Hummers, you just don't have the atmosphere that Scottsdale has and thankfully never will. It is very heavily S. California ex-pats here. We are finally getting some shopping after years of opposition from the residents. 200000 sf of stores and services. I will be able to walk there from my house which will be a pleasant change from having to drive for every little thing. Estrella (they went back to the original name from EMR) is very much like Verrado but the setting is far prettier than Verrado or just about anything in the Phoenix metro area. I never get tired of the view of the Estrellas behind the lakes. |

What I have seen in California, is that in very nice areas, that were traditionally middle class, have fallen into ruin as multiple families move into single family dwellings. Once each house has 6 cars out front ( half running and half not) it distroys the area. I lived in an area of 500/600,000.00 homes and this was happening on my block. We no longer enforce zoning laws ( or any others it seems). Talk to the Mayors office, police and see what they are doing to keep the area livable. I am a single senior on one income and I have seen my living choices eroded to where if it wheren't for some friends, I would be living in our countries newly made ghettos.
