Hiya
I'm not really sure what those figures mean...As a resident I would say I feel very safe here, and I have lived all over the world. As always, there are some places that are 'better' than others..It is fairly easy to tell once you get to know the area
Thanks

Casa Grande is a tough little town. The schools are tough also. There has always been a high drop out rate and a high teen pregnancy rate. I lived there for about 15 yrs and would never go back. You can build as many new, pretty houses and stores as you want, but the generations of drop outs and drug dealers, gang members, etc will always stay there. Their roots are there and they dont leave. For a small town, they have a high crime rate.
Eloy and Coolidge are even worse.

I have been to Casa Grande for pit stops on my way to Tucson Arizona, and it is HOT in the summer, windy and smelly as Silverojo has stated. I am around your age and would NEVER ever, consider living there. They are building quite allot, though the homes are close and there is not much to do. I also noticed every time I have driven through I have had to stop for an unexpected dust storm. Not highly recommended.

Over 80 percent of people that live here have been exposed to valley fever but most people show no symptoms.

this seems like an interesting place to ask about the plans to have a metal shredding recycling plant locate in casa grande. Seems like a pretty noisy, dusty, smelly industry to put in that community. Anyone have experiences with such a beast as a mega metal shredder from any other area?

I lived in Coolidge for several years. It is about 20 mins from Casa Grande. I have some fond memories of living there, but that is probably just because i lived there for so long. I would never go back. Living there, i felt like the life was being sucked out of me. There aren't many jobs, and nothing to do for fun. There is one bowling alley. A movie theater (i worked there for a while, the owner Mike is a real fun, sweet guy). There is a small collection of stores that could be referred to as a mall, but among those stores is a dollar store and a Deseret Industries. Not my idea of quality shopping. There is a Walmart and a K-Mart. Home Depot. All the bigger, chain stores are in town. There is also a lot of drug activity and juvenile crimes. My parents and grandparents still live in Coolidge and there is crime that goes on in their small community all the time, and there's not much the cops can do about it.
If it is a good job position, i would suggest taking it for a while and seeing how it works out. If you don't like it after a couple of years, you can relocate somewhere else. I, myself, am in the process of looking for a small, quaint town to move to. That is not the way i would describe Casa Grande. The hospital there is very decent. That is where i had one of my children. I must say it was better than the hospitals in Mesa.
Hope i could be of some help.

Haven't heard much about violent crime in CG, but there is a lot of property crime -- mostly related to drug (meth) issues, or teenagers with nothing better to do.
