where to live?
Hello, I am a nurse, currently thinking of joining the Banner Health System and will be moving from Kentucky to Arizona. The Glendale, Gilbert area or Scottsdale area. Need advice on where is the best place to live, low crime, cost of living and nice housing, etc. Would appreciate any help. thank you.

They are all nice places to live. You'd have to come out and see what YOU like best. Scottsdale will be more expensive, but other than that they are all nice. Stay in the northern areas of Glendale (north of Union Hills rd) and it will compare to Scottsdale.
For me, when I make more money I will decide between Arrowhead Ranch, various parts of Scottsdale, or Paradise Valley to live.
How much do you want to spend for a home?

If you read through some of the posts and treads you’ll find that the most important location to live is within 30 minutes or less of where you work. You can not drive from the east side to the west side and hope for a commute without traffic, extra waste of gas, and hours lost on the freeway.
There are hospitals at every side of town except City of Maricopa. And there are wonderful areas and neighborhoods to live in near all of cities and hospitals.
You need to narrow down a hospital for employment first and people can give you many good locations to live nearby or at least within 20-30 minutes away. (that can be as little as 10-15 miles)
Things that are some to be unavailable or a bigger problem in the Phoenix metro area are: lack of water, too much traffic, too high of a price for gas, less gas available. These are problems that everyone living here and moving here must be aware of and help to control.

Hello - My husband and I are from Minnesota and we are looking for an Arizona second home in the range of $200,000 to $300,000. This home would only be used during the winter months when we are supposed to be hibernating up here - 10 below to 30 degrees gets old. Anyway, we would definitely like to avoid the mad city lifestyle and would love to settle for a place with beautiful mountain views and space - 1 acre + to boot. Also, descent dining and shopping near by. A place in Chandler or a quaint town near Chandler would probably be ideal, especially since my husband loves the NHRA racing (raceway located in Chandler) - any suggestions would be great.
Thank you in advance.

If I were you, I would move to Gilbert. Personally, it's my dream to live there...i've been living in North Scottsdale for a few years and it's not worth it --- way over priced and higher crime. Since you are in the right industry, you will not have a problem finding a job close by, if not within Gilbert. That's my opinion.
