Beast area's for great mountain views?
I've found it's hit and miss searching homes on realtor .com when it comes to homes with great mountain views. It seemed like you could see mountains from just about anywhere in the distance but some area's seem to have better views than others. In area's I have searched in metro Phoenix so far I found-
Anthem has a lot of great view-
Peoria seemed to have some nice homes with great views-
Gilbert I did not see one home with what I would consider great vuews-
Scottsdale had a few with decent views-
I'm not finding that many and thought I'd ask the people who live there so I have a better idea of where to look.
If you can include other details about the area you suggest that would be great. For instance is it kid friendly? Decent schools? Lower crime? Etc.

Estrella (aka Estrella Mountain Ranch) in Goodyear has one of the best if not the best mountain exposure in the metro area. Has the rest of what you asked about too. Parts of Ahwatukee put you very close to South Moutain as well.

The area north of Dunlap, up 7th street or Cave Creek...lots of hills and views, then up around 40th street and cactus/t bird. Depends on how much you want to spend for a view. Some can be beastly to buy........couldn't resist.

By mountain views I'm assuming you mean the normal "looking at mountains from down below", and not "looking down from the mountain".
You can get a beast of a view both ways in Tucson.
