Smile Woodland Valley Estates

I currently live and work in Riverside County, Ca. A friend at work gave me info on Sierra Highlands Ranch. I contacted a First United Realty Realtor in Saint Johns, Az. I inqured abouthorse property because I have 3 adult horses and one 3.5 month old pony. I drove 545 miles to St Johns in 8.5 hours. The drive was great, and as I drove through the higher elevation, I began to smile. I initially made hotel reservations at a hotel in Holbrook (Best Value .... Inn), but it was so nasty I continued to Saint Johns. The hotel thee was much better. I stayed two days and drove to Show Low and Concho. I had seen enough. I met the realtor on the third day, and he drove me 13 miles east on Hwy 191 to the dirt road leading to the ranch. We drove 9 miles SE on a hard packed dirt road. I noticed the soil appeared to support a grass capale of sustaining horses and cattle. The property I purchases is 36.4 acres that is rather flat, but has approximately 200 feet of trees on a slight hill. The property had a well, and a small but liveable trailer. I purchased that property for under $26K. I will fence the lot in a few weeks, and the well is being tested and repaired. I will put my horses up there ASAP. Great Forum!

With an altitude between 6000' and 7000', I would say they get a lot of snow. That's about the same elevation as Flagstaff, maybe a tiny bit lower. And Flag gets a LOT of snow.

P.S. Here are all the stats for St. Johns here: http://www.city-data.com/city/St.-Johns-Arizona.html

Local area climates can be significantly different due to geographic influences.

Neither WVR or SHR does not get the snowfall amounts that Flagstaff receives.

I've been in both Sierra Highlands Ranch and Woodland Valley Ranch in the winter and both locations get very light snow. Most storms produce only a few inches and that amount usually melts with a day or two at the most. Owners can use their property throughout the winter. Moderator cut: must have more than 10 posts to make specific recs
