Default Air Conditioning

I am moving to Whiteriver, AZ and I wanted to know if it is bearable to live without A/C? I am from Oklahoma and the A/C runs about 40 percent of the year. The people that manage the place I am staying say that it is common not to have A/C. If anyone is familiar with that area of Arizona, please let me know if I will need to install a window A/C unit or what. Thanks!

Here's a link to some info:

Whiteriver Weather | Whiteriver AZ

Scan all the way down the page, quite a bit of info.

BTW, it's 91 there right now, at 3 in the afternoon. Won't get any hotter today than that. I would think you could get by with room unit, fans, etc.

An evaporative cooler would work great there and cost only a fraction of ac both to install and operate. .

even in the summer it will cool off at night nicely, but some AC during July and August might feel good during those humid afternoons....

effective management of open windows could keep it cool until later in the day....open the windows from bedtime until maybe 9am, then keep them closed.....if you feel safe doing this, of course

also, whether your building is made of block or frame will affect its cooling abilities
