Help in chosing between Avondale and Surprize Arizona
I'm looking to move to either Avondale or Surprise and am having a hard time chosing. I have a 10 year old son and need good schools. I'm also lloking a a racially diverse community to live in and hopefully semi quite. I'm moving from Michigan and have not been to either location and really need some help. I understand that Arizona has a good snake and scorpian population, but am wondering if they get into the houses? If anyone can please give me honest opionions it would be fantastic.

If you will be working, being close to your work would be your best bet. There are good areas in both towns, but you need to be here to make a decision.
There is, in my opinion, a lot of misinformation on these boards about both of these places, so you cannot take other peoples descriptions as fact.

Go with Avondale, Surprise is 55+ they crank about everything. Best area probably along Dysart north of I-10

According to census median age is 40 - a little higher than the US average of 37-38. There are PLENTY of young people in Surprise.

definitely plenty of young people in surprise
you could do well in either
i would put surprise as a better area for schools and a little more quiet
i would also put avondale as more convenient and easier to get into / out of
a lot would depend on where you are working

Hey my wife and I live with our 2 children in Surprise. We love it here.. We've only been here almost a year and haven't seen a scorpion yet! *knocks on wood* We are living close to the 303 and I-10. I have a 9 year old and a 5 year old and they love it.. we moved from Tennessee to here.. We wouldn't change it for the world!!! The summer's get hot but NOTHING to what you are used to.. If it was me, I'd chose Surprise.. But that just my opinion... Good luck on your adventure!!

Thank you everyone for replying to my post. It's just so hard to pick an area when your not from there. Hopefully I will be working in Pheonix in the hospital. Actually any hospital or medical facility, driving is not really an issue for me unless it's just horrible to drive in Arizona. Horrible to me is when you sit in a traffic backup for more than 20mins. Or you have 6 lanes of expressway and all are jammed packed full of cars. Once again thank you.

Surprise.
You should consider Goodyear, as well.
