I have driven this road recently, yes very quiet but they were working on it when I was there. Saw quite a bit of traffic which surprised me. I take this shortcut to get the Guest Ranch, but they have always advised me to call before just to make sure the road is okay to travel, being a single female, I always comply so nothing will be surprising me on my journey. Beautiful scenery and even had the pleasure of coming across a rather large desert tortoise. I travel from the ranch to Tucson, and it definitely makes the journey at least 45 mins shorter. I had no problems with the road and know due to good advise, that I must never drive through the washes when wet.
