So BROTHA'S...you guy's need to step your game up a little and LOVE your black SISTA"S. I met a lady the other day who told me maybe you need to date out of you race.....and i told her sorry but's not happening. I LOVE the bortha's!!
This is true. All too often when I'm out Black me will not speak to me. Either they are with a non-Black women, or look right past me. Now the opposite is true about white men. I seem to attract them by the truck loads.

Obviously, black women have reasons to frustrated with some black men and vice versa because of interracial dating, abusive relationships, financial irresponsibility, etc.

However, I have faith that the majority of black men (in Phoenix and across the nation) are good people. Lately, it just seems that many black women are incredibly rude to black men in public. Either they'll rudely walk away without saying a word to the men who approach them, laugh at them, embarass them loudly or look at them like they're crazy!

The latest trend that I've seen is that a woman will go out on the dance floor with a brotha and then leave him in mid-song to go hug or dance with another brotha!

If you're not interested, that's fine, but please be polite about it!

If I am way off-base please let me know!

But this is an obvious and alarming trend because I've had talks with many brothas about this topic within the last few months!

Holla!
If I shared with you some of the things that men say to you during (what should be casual conversations) you would be amazed! Sometimes you just need to walk away it's so unbelievable. Yes, it could go both ways...The men do it because women (some) allow it... I dont care! I'm not having it and men need to respect that not all women want to hear about them being married but they are out looking for some "loving" because their wife is at home dying of cancer (true story). Come on now. It's sometimes best just to excuse yourself and walk...

Maybe they HAVE stepped their game up -- some folks are just too ignorant to realize it.

Please!!! Black women have stepped there game up years ago. That's probably the problem...They stepped up so much that the black men can't handle them.

I see just as many "black" couples as I do interracial couples. But, maybe that's just a fluke?? I don't believe so. I think there are just as many brotha's out there that will NOT date anything but a sista' as there are those that won't or don't. My husband has dated all different races but fell in love with and married me(he really lucked out let me tell ya). He finds all types of women attractive and I don't have a problem with that!!

I know we will need to adjust to the major cultural difference of becoming a minority, but are there good social activities and shopping for African American families? We teach our children about equality, so we're not looking for any segregation, but would feel comfortable if we're not the only blacks in our neighborhood or our children standing out as the only blacks in their school.
Actually the southwest is a welcome relief from the racial tension in the Midwest. Scottsdale is an upwardly mobile community, primarily white and a very nice place to live. African Americans are a minority. There is a much larger hispanic population.
But the attitude is so totally different than Michigan. It is difficult to explain,
but it doesn't really matter what your race is.

I guess it depends on the area your in. You said that's all you see our black couples and all i see is mixed couples, but the area i'm in is near chander/Gilbert so maybe that's why. I know a few black men who won't date nothing but black women but hey don't live here in Arizona. Please don't get me wrong i'm sure there are black me here that date only in there race...i'm just talking about what i've seen since i moved here.
