The software comes with a set of censored words by default. I believe we've never looked into it, really.

Saw, met a good number or Californians looking, buying lots in Cordes Lakes, area last fall. Californians consider the land in parts of AZ cheap(that is compared to CA!). I don't know about Lib vs. Consv., but being from Illinois small community (last 21 years of my 59),tend to Conservative. Just won't let it make a difference in my own personal presentation when moving to
AZ next year. Small communities are great! Read quite a bit in Big Bug News, Arizona(receive weekly by mail) about possible Mexican drug cartel types bringing some crime into our AZ home area to be. I think small communities don't always expect this. The police there work so hard, and are on the spot breaking up these crimes, much more so than in Illinois. I'm just so GLAD we are moving to our small community, like we are accustomed too, there's a place called Cordes Lakes we've already fallen in love with. And we realize we are part of that population growth which also creates problems and strains for these smaller areas-water, schools(although not in our case), roads, emergency service. We still have allot of 'kick' left and will put back into our community when and as we can. Our missions in life are not done yet. AZA

On behalf of my brother and other relatives there in Zona I can say that on the whole liberals are not wanted or needed. Keep looking a little further west

Default Why on Earth do Liberals?

Why On Earth would someone call Liberals progressive?
What is progressive about them? They are the ones on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals with the attitude anything goes. Liberals believe in any philosophy as long as you can freely throw money at it to cure it.

I don't know for sure yet, but Ashfork and Prescott both seem to be conservative. Mesa is for sure. Someone said it here that if you want to give criminals unlimited rights, gun owners as somehow the villain(disagree with the gay analogy because, unlike pedophiles, who truly harm people, you can't diminish gays as human beings simply because of their sexual orientation). There is no comparison. Children do not "turn" gay on account of any interaction with gays, they are not traumatized by them, gays don't destroy marriages or do they affect heterosexuals divorce rates or lifestyle, and they shouldn't be denied human rights simply because so many people can't get over the fact that the "tradition" of man and woman marriage will never disappear by any laws passed for gays.
Back to Liberal ideology. Other than talking about gays, if you think excusing every behavior there is and simply just think we should just try to understand it(criminals, terrorism, beheadings, no discipline in the schools, throw money at everything to solve it, a law for every conceivable possible ill in society, then Liberalism is for you.
Isn't Kingman a conservative town?

It's funny I should come across your post. As I was reading others referring to Liberalism as progressive, I thought to myself "Progressive??? More like regressive!" Don't have to go further than your bottle of shampoo to realize what liberal means. "Use liberally" Use more, (spend more)
By the way, I'd also like to know if Kingman is conservative or not.

Hmm, that might be a bit of a stereotype placed on Californians. Not all are that liberal/progressive. CA does not always = liberal. It depends on which part of CA the people are from and most important of which socio-political subgroup they belong to. I have a friend in North Carolina who just recently had a new neighbor move in from Northern CA (Bay Area). She told me that this new neighbor is way more religious and conservative than the rest of her direct NC neighbors!!

In the 2004 election, while the Northeastern counties of Apache and Santa Cruz voted by the largest margin in favor of Kerry, this is chiefly for economic reasons, and the area is not very socially liberal. Elsewhere in Arizona, while Tucson is more liberal than Phoenix, I wouldn't say it's necessarily a liberal city. It leans more liberal than conservative but not by a huge margin like other urban centers. Phoenix as a whole is very conservative for a large city. Maricopa County (of which Phoenix is a part) voted 57% for Bush in the last election which is higher than Arizona's 55% total given for Bush. Within the Phoenix area though, Tempe is pretty liberal due to ASU and the Chandler and Ahwahtukee areas are as well. The rest of metro Phoenix treads moderate to conservative. The other smaller cities of Arizona like Yuma, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City and such tend to be even more conservative.
I wouldn't call Sedona liberal, but for the new age population. However most of these woo-woos are renting homes with 4 other roommates and working 3 jobs to get by.

A lot of people on this forum confuse "liberal" with "bohemian". For example, someone said stay away from Bisbee unless you are "very liberal". Yet there is nothing about Bisbee, per se, that is attractive to those with a liberal world view. Same with Sedona.
"Liberal" comes from the Latin liberalis meaning "free, noble or generous". It is associated with the valuing of intellectual attainment, as evident in the term "liberal arts".
"Conservative" simply means "inclined to preserve the past", and refers to a world view that values tradition, i.e., whatever one has become accustomed to based on past experience. Ambrose Bierce's famous definition of "a statesman who is enamored of existing evils" is as relevant today as it was a century ago. That's why conservatives were so greatly opposed to reforms such as the emancipation of slaves, giving women the right to vote, and civil rights -- not a part of past practice.

"Strictly speaking, conservatism is not a political system, but rather a way of looking at the civil order. The conservative of Peru ... will differ greatly from those of Australia, for though they may share a preference for things established, the institutions and customs which they desire to preserve are not identical." [Russell Kirk (1918-1994)]
