Default Absolutely!!

AZ is by FAR the most beautiful state!! I currently live in MN, but lived in AZ for about 8 months...the summer is HELL on earth, but the rest is awesome!!...I could never get sick of listening to the quails, looking for geckos, walks on the millions of trails!!! My husband is NOW telling me that moving back to MN was a HUGE mistake, and that we should have just stayed, however, we do plan to move back next year during the times our son is in school...but be in MN in the summers.....I cannot wait!!! However, I do NOT want to be in N Scottsdale again.....down by McCormick Ranch is much closer to the places we go on a regular basis, plus, IMO more down to earth friendlier people

Picture of a trail by our house when we lived in Scottsdale.

Frankly: I do not understand why anybody would even live in MN unless due to career/family reasons. There are many other places with '4 season' climates that have milder winters coupled with cooler summers than here in Az.

Ken, Eastern Wa is an ugly place, with like you say horrible winters. Nothing from Eastern Wa can compare to the beauty of the Sonoran Desert with. That place is usually uncomfortably HOT or Cold, with about 2 months of OK rainy weather. As a Washington State resident for most of my life...I suppose my boredom with the state is a bit biased. Don't forget that Wa state is also the leading state for depression, suicide, SAD, and Serial Killers.

I thing Wa is pretty, but AZ is mystical, unique, and magical with uncanny beauty.

AZ is great 8 months out of the year...the other 4 I would much rather be in MN...MN has it's good points...schools, lakes, parks, trails, and a few more that are MY favorites, but like AZ, there are 8 months of BAD here, and 4 months of beautiful, and (usually) warm weather...summer and fall are my favorites...summer for the walks and bike rides and swimming in the pool, and fall for the leaves on the trees changing, and watching all the animals scampering around preparing for the winter. Usually everyone LOVES the first snowfall because it's really quite beautiful, but after about 1 month of it it's very unappealing...uugh!! and COLD!!! winter lass here from about nov-april, but it can start to get cold in Oct, and snow can last until May. We had to come back for economic reasons, but are planning on returning for just the school months...then I'm outta there..summer is too hot!!!

Default Arizona

Every time I ride my motorcycle to Arizona I go through severe depression having to go back to California. I have thought of just staying there and homesteading. But, I love my wife and that wouldn't be right. Trying to ease her into moving to Arizona, eventually. Can't get her to move back to my home state of Tennessee.

Put me down for California. A huge state with so much variety. I'm a native, but really not biased. Love many other places in America too, and I've lived in many states and in four countries abroad being from a military family and being ex-military myself. Never stayed in any place to long. When housing market improves enough to sell bye bye. Phoenix is my least favorite city of all, and I've lived in/near eight USA cities from east to west, north to south. Arizona has its beauty, but I avoid the Valley of the Sun like the plague.

That surprising. I love AZ. But personally I think California has the best motorcycling in the country. Way, way, better than AZ. You've got endless mountain and coastal roads. Yosemite, the Sierras, gold country, the wine country, even Death Valley. AZ is mostly boring straight roads though the desert. That combined with the brutal extremes of temperature, I've practically given up motorcycling in this state. That being said, I am choosing to live in Arizona at this point in time. Instead of motorcycling, I've taken up off-road exploration in my Jeep. It would take a lifetime to see this whole state via old mine roads, for example.
