Cottonwood is supposed to have some cool scenery as well- I figure it would be a cool drive.
I couldn't find the road conditions page on the BLM site but here's a pretty good site that should help you out. 2wd normal clearance works fine in dry conditions. If its wet, its impassable even with 4wd.
