I hope you weren't referring to the photos I posted in that comment, because those are all my shots as well.

BereniceUK no problem go ahead and ask.
Fantastic photographs, and so many thanks again for the brilliant advice and information. In asnwer to some of the questions I will be arriving at Arizona end of March 2010 through to Mid April 2010. I only have 10 days of pleasure so I am trying to cram a lot in. I think that is the start of Arizonas Summer is that correct?

Has anyone ever visited the Coyote Alley Bar at Surprise?

Thanks again to all.

British

March can be still quite chilly in the "high desert", which is where most of these pictures were taken. There may be night temps down into freezing and even snow. Day temps could nice, or they could be cold. Phoenix will be quite nice though as will the Colorado River cities like Lake Havasu City for example.

british,

The good thing about off-season is less tourists. I love the smell of pinion smoke on chilly breezes and after a good hike in the cold, heading inside to a crackling fireplace and a cuppa hot cider.

Whe you refer to the high desert where you took the photographs can you give me a town on a map where the high desert would start, For example Tuba City or Bitter Springs is this somewhere near?

Pretty much all of northern AZ is considered high-desert except for the towns that have beaches along the Colorado River. I say beaches, because the Grand Canyon National Park in on the river, but at an elevation of 7,000' (which is what makes it so impressive.) Certainly everything along I40 from Kingman to the NM border, and the then entire state to the north of I40 (except for the river towns) is high desert. Plus a good percentage of the southern part of the state as well. So it's probably easier to describe what isn't high desert here. So with the exception of Phoenix and the Mexican border towns, and the river towns like Bullhead, Havasu, Parker, and Yuma, you can expect cool to chilly weather in March. You will need a jacket most of the time. It's also windy out here which adds to the chill.
