Default Green Valley/Rio Rico

We are currently living in central Texas and can no longer stand the humidity and out of control property taxes.

We are thinking of Arizona.
We are looking for a new home in a quiet area with access to some shopping etc. We are looking in the $140 to $150,000 price range.

Is this possible in Rio Rico or Green Valley.

We lived in the Phoenix area for years and know prices in Arizona have skyrocketed.

I would appreciate any info input web sites you might have.

Thanks

You might want to make a trip over to see Arizona first. You can google REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale to check on some houses and prices as well. I am sure someone that is more familiar with the area will be responding to your post. We left CA becase of runawy business taxes. Good luck to you.

It is possible in Rio Rico to get a home in your price range.

The Villages of Rio Rico have small 3 bedroom homes that may still be avail in the $140,000 range althought they are (or have just) raising prices. Tucson
is 60 something miles away (75 mph on Int. 19). Nogales and Mexico are just 10 miles south and very safe as illegals want to get as far north as possible and the area is crawling with border security. The views are fantastic...and the area is growing quickly.

You aren't going to get a lot for that price range in Green Valley. There are small casita type homes and small condos in Green Valley that would fall into that price range. If you want a free standing single family home with 2 BR, 2 Baths, 2 car garage, you will be in the $250,000 and up range. I don't know about Rio Rico because I don't live there.

GREG AND VICKY ... Did you two ever make it into Rio Rico to explore the housing possibilities there? ... my husband and i just returned from Rio Rico and we were so pleased with what we saw ... it is our intention to retire there just as soon as my husband is eligible ... we purchased property there roughly four years ago ... it was our first trip back in four years ... the area has experienced a tremendous boom in both housing and commerce ... i do believe that MARYmovingtoRIORICO will be my neighbor ... isn't that a hoot ... !!! ... what a small world we live in ... good luck in your housing search ...
