as a felon are we allowed to sit on the hoa board class 2 felon??

I would think so, unless the CC and R's for your community say otherwise.

but it was my understanding after a conviction we loose all rights to vote and hold a public non profit position

I think that only applies to voting in a state or national election....not a civil board such as a HOA...
and I wasn't aware that being a felon also does not allow you to hold a non profit position...does it? I honestly think that has to apply to something related to a governmental position; a HOA surely doesn't come close to that, IMO...

Not at all! I think it's encouraged if you have a felony conviction that you MUST run for office...or at least if you ASPIRE to be a felon one day...ahhhhhhh

An HOA board is not a public office, and HOA elections aren't covered by the loss of civil rights, either, in terms of voting. That's why I answered the question the way I did.
