According to the National Weather Service and Weather.com, Prescott's high today was 83. The forecast low is mid-50's tonight. Tomorrow we're supposed to reach upper 80's or even 90! Definitely warming up a bit. What's it doing down in Phoenix? Are things heating up there, too?

Accuweather says it's currently 97 in Buckeye but we're looking to hit 110 possibly by Thursday

Summer is here!

People seem to cry about the heat here when it gets near 100.

Well... I came from Virginia where 100 was not unusual, except we had humidity... and a lot of it. Think 110 is bad? Try 100 and 70% humidity. That is miserable. Impossible to do anything outside without being soaking wet.

I work from my Scottsdale home and sit on the deck most days with my computer. When it gets over 100 it is a little warm, if the sun is shining. If the sun is not on my deck I'm fine until even a little warmer than that.

Keep in mind, I came from the midwest (and may return). The area I live in is not very friendly and is way too snooty for my taste, but the weather is PERFECT in my opinion. I never felt this good before living here. And I mean that... I had arthritis and awful pains in my joints, but not here.

No wonder so many old people move here (and I'm not old... just endowed with very young age onset arthritis).

So anyway. I don't like the people up here in North Scottsdale. But I DO love the weather, a lot. Hot? Yeah... but compared to the miserable freezing rain and cold of the Midwest or Mid Atlantic? It wins by a mile.

The Midwest gets about 6 months of "decent" weather (really, 4 months of nice weather). Arizona gets about 9 months of NICE weather, and 3 mos of hot weather. Yes, its a "dry heat" and yes, it feels like an oven. Not that tolerable, but not any worse than the Midwest or New England during a huge snowstorm. In fact, more tolerable in my opinion.

You do the math. Would you rather be hot, or freeze your **** for six months?

I'm still debating. After some considertation for the significant other, we may go for a summer house in the Midwest and stay here in the Valley. I don't like it, but I really like the weather. Which means a lot.

Would you consider a different location within the Valley?

Summer is definitely here, ya'll. Buy plenty of sunscreen, jugs of water, and buy lots of shorts for this year. It's here.

I grew up in southern CA, so I never really experienced anything resembling cold weather. Hence, it did feel pretty cold to me. I did get used to it though.
