Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me about the Mountain Club area? We're thinking of renting a house there. We've already decided to move to Prescott, and are aiming to just rent 'sight unseen' to avoid staying in a hotel. Any advice on this in general, or the Mountain Club area in particular? Thanks! |

You will really find quite a variety of homes in Mountain Club. It was originally established in the 1920's as a cabin area in the pines for folks coming up from Phoenix in the summer to escape the heat. It's really kind of quirky and fun - you'll find everything from tiny little cabins built back in the 20's to brand new homes. Not many paved roads in the area and lots of pine trees -- you really do feel like you're in the mountains. There's some really neat homes in there, but there's also some real cabins, so renting something sight unseen in there might be a little risky. I'd want to know the age of the home and see some pictures first.
Prescott in general does have a wide variety of rentals available, though, so I don't think you'll have much of a problem finding some temporary housing. And Welcome to Prescott! |
