And if you have time, a Jeep tour is always interesting and then there is Enchantment.

So many places, so little time.

Stumblina:

Cowboy Club is nice but pricey. Actually though it is the cheapest and more casual of the 3 restaurants that are all tied together, the other 2 being The Silver Saddle Room and Redstone Cabins. The sort of nice thing about it is that it is right in Uptown Sedona so that makes it nice.

Javelina Cantina is located at a shopping/dining complex called Hillside that is just up the road from Tlaquepaque. Probably the best you will get as far as Mexican food goes up here, though some prefer Oaxaca or El Rincon. If you like seafood, you may want to try Shugrue's Hillside Grill, which is in the same complex as Javelina.

As to the question about Enchantment, I assume the person is referring to Enchantment Resort located in Boynton Canyon. It's quite a beautiful setting and there is a nice hiking trail in the area.

And one thing I would like to add, which I would warn anyone of when they visit here...BEWARE THE TIMESHARE CROOKS!!! These guys hang out in their little storefronts in Uptown and try to lure the unsuspecting tourist in with a free helicopter ride or whatever. I can only imagine how many people have gotten sucked in by these lying hucksters and separated from their money. If they hit you up, just ignore them and keep walking.

So around we go on proper pronounciation (It's fun).

There is a thread in another forum on pronounciation of AZ place names and it gets pretty interesting.

So, tahiti and Stumbilina, just come on out and have fun.
thanks motormaker! i got a kick out of the banter back and forth about the pronounciation of tlaquepaque - i'll have practice saying it on the plane so i don't sound like a stupid yankee when i get there.

when we were deciding on where to go this year, i thought of phoenix (I do have a timeshare so availability was a factor) but my friend recommended sedona. at first i was like "what am i going to do in sedona with 9 year old boys?" (not that i knew what i was going to do in phoenix but i have been there ) but then i did a little research and we're just not going to have enough time to do everything! i'm really, really excited, if it's 1/2 as beautiful in person as the pictures my breath will be taken away.

we leave in 3 weeks!

thanks also to the person who brought up the heat issue. i know the "but it's a dry heat" line, but i firmly believe that - I'd rather 110 dry than 80 humid. that being said, ,we will exercise caution and carry water everywhere, stock up on sunscreen and wear hats. my one son and i are too fair to tempt fate or even the thought of a tan

oh yes. i have a timeshare which we're using for this trip. when we go to florida it's incessant - we got called EVERY day in our unit. i'm like "I've already got one that I can't use all the time, WTF do i need another?" - they don't take NO for an answer. I have no problem telling them where to shove it. thank god i got this timeshare for free (my brother signed it over to me), otherwise i'd never do it.

tahiti

Take a hike in Boynton Canyon and also explore the Bell Rock area. If you have 4w drive, take a drive up Schnebbly Road. You could also do a pink jeep tour up Schnebbly rd. A visit to Tuzigoot National Monument would be a worthwhile endeavour. Visit some of the many new age shops.

Enjoy Sedona. It's a beautiful place.....Franco

Take a Pink Jeep tour, the one named "Broken Arrow" is the best, you won't regret it.
