Default How do I find a house to lease/rent?

Me and two of my freinds want to get a house, but we cannot afford a big down payment or anything, so we want to lease a house.

Where should we look? Is there websites like there is for apartments? Do we need a realator or something?

How much of a security deposit do you guys think will be required?

If anyone has a house they want to lease, please let me know, we are looking for a 3-4 bedroom, between 1-17 and Tatum and anywhere from greenway up to carefree highway.

Thanks!

You will find the most rental listings by finding a RE agent. Most are listed on the MLS. There are thousands of homes for rent. Even though Craigslist is awesome, you will only find a fraction of the homes on the market. Using an agent you don't pay them anything and they will help you with the lease. Just a thought!

Also, the sec deposit will usually run about one months rent. However, you can find some deals and pay less.

Well if I can mention the names of some websites without getting in trouble (because they dont want us to 'advertise' in here, and I dont classify them as 'advertising, but you never know) there is realtor.com, apts.com, rent.com and with those sites you can pretty much set your criteria in many ways. You might have to bend a little in price though, as some areas arent as inexpensive as they used to be.....

I found alot of 3-4 bedrooms, I sent out alot of emails in the last few hours, I hope we find somewhere. We need a place by september 16th, so I have alot of time.

What would a real estate agent charge for helping us find a house though?

As I wrote in my previous post, realtors will NOT charge you a thing. They make their commission from the person leasing out their house (the leasor).
