'bout 5 or 6 miles away from Yellville, there's Flippin! Five or six miles east is Gassville...we do love our weird town names! My favorite.....well, I'll start another thread on that!

Near 40 and and loves Cherokee Village
I am almost 40 and I pine for Cherokee Village. I live in Memphis where i have a good job. I have been all over the state of Arkansas, and there are many places that are even prettier than CV, but CV is very SMALL and QUAINT, the people are overall FRIENDLY and it has a very homey feel to it. Real estate is still very, very reasonable comparable to other parts of the state. If I can think of a way to make a living there by starting my own business, I would be there tomorrow. If you like the simple life and can keep yourself occupied, its a winner. If you are looking for a church home, we found Cherokee Village Methodist Church to be very welcoming. There is a husband and wife ministry team there and it's great. There are directional signs pointing the way right near the Town Center.

Hi Conventional1!
I could not agree with you more! I am so thrilled I found CV. Since I've been back, I keep picturing all the beautiful scenery, the deer in my back yard! and the people.
I'm looking forward to the peace and quiet. I'll keep myself busy with my knitting, jewlery making and fishing
As I've said in my more recent posts, the people there (and the surrounding towns) were absolutely wonderful. I'm still finalizing my arrangements here so I'm not quite permanent yet.... but Lord knows I'm working on it! Late Spring should be it!
A number of people have recommended CV Methodist Church. I will definitely visit there once I get moved.
Best to you! Hope to see you there too!

HI Songbless!
Yes, moving forward and thankful for every step. I've met some wonderful people on this site and at CV. I'm having to ask the Lord for patience. I feel as though I left a big chunk of myself there and I'm missing the other half!
This real estate thing across the country now has put a BRIEF delay in my move forward... but we aren't moved by what we see or hear are we?
Using this time to get myself organized and to get rid of a lot of stuff i've accumulated that I won't need.
Thank you for your kind comments!
Regards,

I don't pass through Flippin on a regular basis, I tend to migrate toward Mountain View, where we have some cabins on the White River...and I am not a fisher-freak, I generally hang on the deck with a good book and watch...it's what I'm best at! Judging from the number of boats that go by and the happy look on most of the faces, it must be okay....we're almost spitting distance from Jack's Landing in Sylamore, where a lot of the guide boats leave from.

cv is divided between to counties the village has a lot of regulation but fulton county next to none . been here for 18 years and i think you be fine at cv or mountain home. mountain home would be my first choice, because of great medical care and hospital. plus two lakes with some of the best fishing you can find. walmart super center. mountain has a lot of people from chicago. hope this will help.

This thread is a couple of years old. I think the OP moved quite awhile ago.
