I like to think that my comments are factual, although impressions of rudeness are subjective. But my perceptions have been supported by others like the nice couple who posted here that not one kind Christian sole in this region would help them out. I also talked to a gal from Malvern, and she said it wasn't just me. She said Bryant is known for being a town of stuck up rude people, and she won't even go to Walmart there because of the poor treatment. I laughed and told her that I actually had to file a complaint against a Walmart employee there.

As for moving back to Texas, we are in a bad recession in case ya didn't know. Jobs are pretty scarce these days. I may be unhappy in this town, but at least I can pay my bills.
WELL......'good buddy'.

I for one am not surprised that you have found people to support your views.

Enough people shared views to team up for a glorious ride on the Hale-Bopp companion, but....I dunno....they weren't at the right comet stop or something.

And that wacky knucklehead Jim Jones sure found a lot of people sharing his opinions.....'til some jokester spiked the kool aid.

Start asking about what *really* happened with 9-11.

Oh, and Txdave, Texas is in the top 1/3 of the country for low unemployment rates. How lucky for you, now you should be able to start looking seriously for a job that pays decent wages. We all know jobs in AR pay less than in Texas.

Even if a single person agrees with me, that is proof enough that the problem is NOT me.

BTW, your examples don't even hold up water. People fall into cults usually through methods of brainwashing and isolation. Doesn't equate at all to a person having predominantly negative experiences in a particular area.

Keep insulting and being rude. Just only serves to prove me right.

Sure, if one person agrees with you, it shows you are not alone: as mentioned, there are those out there that think 9/11 was a constiracy, does this make it true or right?

No matter what the situation there are always a few that will side with one another, it is what the majority thinks that is important and most of the time true. We are not talking a slight majority, we are talking 10 to 1 positive over negatives. Anyone that can find nothing but negatives to report is leading a miserable and unhappy life.

Oh, you mean the vast difference between 8% and 9% national average? It still means there are a lot fewer jobs out there in Texas, and companies are not willing to pay good salaries. Of course you are going to argue these facts because you can't stand ever being wrong. Guess that is part of "glass half full" mentality haha

Well the main reason I started posting here was to see what the majority consensus of this area is. Instead I get bone headed insultive replies from people with lots of AR pride.

And the majority can be wrong especially if they are born and raised in this area. It's been an icy reception since I got here, and it aint thawed out a bit.

Vegas is not a good place to be now. Unemployment is a little over 14%, the hightest in the nation, and foreclosesures are highest too. Right now it is a cool 108, yesterday at 5 pm it was 119. How the tourists walk the strip in this heat I don't know. Casinos love it because they go inside and gamble and shop. The politics here are very interesting with Sharon Angle and Harry Reid battling for the Senate. I do all my yard work at 5 in the morning, sun is already up, and the grandkids and I are in the house by 9 am. My daughter picks them up between 5 and 6, too hot for them to play outside when they get home. She has 3 children, 4, 2 and 4 months. Together my husband and I have 12 children, 9 boys, 3 girls, all grown and gone, 29 grandchildren none on the way that we know of. We have a headstone business 3 of the boys run, original 1857 building burned down by an arsonist 2 years ago, oldest daughter and her son barely escaped with just their pj's on. Melted the siding on the house across the street. Her suv, a Jeep, body melted, but deep inside the 4 story adobe heart of the building, the gun room/powder room, bullet re-loading room wasn't disturbed. We relocated and the boys are still at work today. It is the oldest continually run family business in Utah. One son is in construction, still working every day, 2 sons are Rangers, huu-aahhh!, one daughter is an RN, one is IRS agent, the other a fish biologist in Alaska, one son is a fireman and 2 work at a plant that makes air bags. Only 1 son that isn't married. He has the most money and big boy toys, gets to play with all the nieces and nephews, doesn't have to change diapers, and always has an extra $20 to give. My husband has 3 degrees, I have only 2years, he has rhumatoid arthritis, but in great health otherwise. We are the happiest, most blessed with good times and bad, family on the block. Our block is really spread out, and I miss seeing them, but email and phones work real well. One son has been to Iraq twice, one son getting ready to deploy Afghanistan. The RN works at a VA hospital. I have lived around the world, and the United States is the best place in the world. Denmark is second. I really liked the people there and felt very safe. I was living there on 9/11, and all my neighbors came and we watched it on TV. I have lived where there was a bounty on me just because I was a North American. 5 of my children were home schooled because there were no English speaking schools. I hope we add to the goodness of the area. We are young at heart baby boomers, always taking some online college class, writing emails and letters, sending goody boxes and receiving "I did this at school today" papers. Things are expensive, but not as much as other places in the world, which makes them more dearer. I'm so glad there is a doctor and we don't have to pack the "stitches" kit.
Take care everyone, say a prayer for our troops--- God Bless America.

I am arguing your statement about the trouble in finding a job, I am not argueing facts. I know the difference between fact, opinion and complete fiction.

Hey, I love Texas and I think you need to go back. My point, the national scale lthat list unemployment rates simply show overall unemployment rates. Even 8.5% isn't all that high. Add to that the salary range in Texas is much higher than here in AR, so it appears you are maybe overpaid for what you do. I happen to know of a couple of companies in Dallas that are hiring and they pay good salaries. How hard have you looked, or do you take the same attitude about job hunting that you do about living in AR, why bother, it won't work anyway. Obviously you must have a very good job in Little Rock, that should mean something. Maybe you are just overpaid. If that is the case, I would be thrilled if I were you to live someplace that doesn't quite live up to my expectations. Hey, that girlfriend of yours, who lives in Bella Vista, maybe she can help you get a job in NWA? There are companies here that are hiring.
