I don't know. I guess just because my little bother and sister are going there. Do you know anything about the Salem School district, that I should know about? Please let me know what you think.
Thanks

Salem is a nice little town, i have lived in the area (about 25 miles west for many years )as for magrack and his ticks sound like a little over the top. as for in town you shouldn't have a big problem with ticks more so with sketters. As for bmx & mx might find some around the jonesboro area not far from Salem as its a collage town. As for the marriage thing not a problem folk around here don't really care one way or the other, of coarse there is always one out there just like anywhere in the country. And for the family of 4 yah might think of having a few more just to fit in. ( lol just kidding ) Shopping in Salem there is a few stores don't think there is a wall-mart but Mnt home is just about 30 min west and has good shopping, hope this helps

Magrack, what do you spray on your lawn for bugs? Not to get off topic!

But we'll be planting a lawn this fall and want to be prepared for next Spring!

I put down crystals in the very early spring. They're all pretty good, but I like Ortho...personal preference.

We have a lot of crane flys in my area and if you don't get them early, the larvae will just eat up your lawn with brown spots, not to mention the numerous other bugs. The crystals pretty much last a season, and I'll put another application down in early fall. I only treat the lawn in the immediate area of the house (about an acre) It's a little more than you really need to worry about, but I like to wander around lush green lawn without worry and the dogs prefer it...less fleas and ticks for me to mess with.
The rest of the acreage, though I mow it like lawn, I don't worry about. I have more problems with wild blackberrys out there than bugs, The birds spread the seeds in their waste...that's why you always see wild blackberry bushes growing along section fencing. The birds stop for a rest on the fence strands, sometimes do their other business, and voila, instant berry patch

Every 6 weeks or so, I use Bayer (again, personal preference) to spray around the foundation out to about 6 feet from the house and decking, and all the trees to a height of about 8 feet.

the only thing I know about the Salem school district is that one of the smartest and sweetest women I know graduated from there. But I had never heard anything spectacular about the district.

Next summer I'll be applying for a teaching position and I am curious about local districts that I don't know about- thats why i was asking.
