Smile Planning a move to the Bentonville/Rogers Area

Hello,

I hope someone could help me with some info on the Bentonville/Rogers area or suggestions near there. We are planning to move this fall. We are in our early 50's and my husband will be working there. We have visited the area and love it. We are moving from South Florida. I am originally from MI. Right now my main issues are finding a nice friendly neighborhood where people talk and help each other and due to health issues, how is the health care? Also, do you have a lot of sunshine, not afraid of cool weather. We are not beach, golf, or fancy dining out people. We just want a nice friendly town with good people. Also, is the area pet friendly and is there a Greyhound Rescue group? Thanks so much for any help you can give me!

We have lived in Pea Ridge AR since March, and we love the area. If you plan to buy, please feel free to contact me about realtors and builders we have come across.

Default Greymom

We moved to Bentonville, AR in 1998 and have absolutely loved it ever since. Yes, this is a very friendly town (I think more so than Rogers or other areas in Northwest Arkansas). There are several "family friendly" neighborhoods around and PLENTY of housing. This town went through a housing surge of new homes a couple of years ago, and so many of them are still empty because the housing market topped out. Now is a great time to buy because sellers of new homes are very motivitated. I am not sure about the Greyhound rescue group, but I am sure if you call the Bentonville Chamber of Commerce they could help you. The weather is a little crazy. It can be 85 one day and 55 the next in the spring and fall, but generally the weather is nice (even through the winter). As far as fiendly neighbors, I know all my neighbors and we all look out for one another.
I hope you enjoy your move here. I think you will be very happy.

Default RE: Greyhound Rescue

I don't know if Lynn Justice is still running the greyhound group in West Memphis or not - Midsouth Greyhound Adoption Option? I don't see her name anymore...I do know that Southland Greyhound Park had an adoption day just about 6 weeks ago...contact midsouthgreyhound.com and see what they can tell you - (870) 735-7317. They have lots of greyhounds up for adoption, or were you wanting to work within a rescue group?

Halfway Home operates out of Tulsa... Halfway Home Greyhound Adoption - Index

Rescued Racers may know something as well, they are in Missouri...

Rescued Racers

Hope that helps! Thanks for considering either a rescue, or working within the rescue orgs - we need more help like yours!

I'm not spamming, because I have never used the guy, but he has a great search tool on his site. I don't like realtors, so if you can buy with out one, do it... but you can still look for property on Bentonville,Bella Vista, Arkansas Real Estate for sale
