to swim for a day
I am wanting to get away with friend and we want to swim for the day in a quiet , but safe place. We live in Willow Springs MO, and are not that far from Arkansas. does anyone know where we can go close. no parties, no loudness, hopefully (no offense kids) we are getting away from ours for the day. nice and clean. thanks for the help.

Are you wanting a lake? Heber Springs or Mountain View, and Mtn. View may be more to your liking since Heber is innundated during the summer. If you go out from Mtn. View to Fifty-Six, Arkansas, there is a wonderful swimming hole, or go up toward Blanchard Springs - I think there are several spots to swim up there on the river. Out from Mountain View you can rent some houses that back up to the White River - you can't swim in that area, the current is too fast, but it's a short drive to Fifty-Six, maybe 8 miles or so? Those would be my two picks! If you have the means to rent a houseboat on Greers Ferry in Heber for the day, there are a ton of little coves where you can get lost...Enjoy!
