Well, if you like doing anything other than going to church, you'll probably be called a sinner. There is a reason that people call Jonesboro 'Jonesboring'. Jonesboro has more churches per capita than any other city in the country. Don't get me wrong, I'm a church guy but I don't like people constantly telling me that drinking beer occasionally is sinful. By the way, Jonesboro is in a dry county (alcohol can't be purchased there).

Thumbs up Move to Jonesboro, we are good people

Our church would welcome you, if you desire to attend services. I don't get to attend very often since I drive OTR and I'm out of town a lot. We are a small church, but a good one. Westvale Baptist Church. I was baptised there as a baptist, but I like many other denominations as well. And, yes, as the one person stated, we are a dry county, but they have plenty of private clubs, and we are surrounded by wet counties 10-20 miles, depending on which direction you go. I myself drink a little wine on occasion and I truly believe that as long as you don't get drunk, that alcohol is like most other beverages. The drunk part is what I believe is considered the sin, but I'm a work in progress. I especially hope that people will not drink and drive because I have famly and friends and neighbors that I am concerned for.
Anyway, if you move to Jonesboro, I hope you like it. It is a small town really and not a whole lot to do, depending on what your hobbies are. We have the basics that almost all towns have, your typical ball leagues, bowling, movie theaters, Arkansas State University and stadium games, we have concerts and truck/tractor shows, etc., in our Convocation Center, lots of things take place at the fair grounds at different times, like gun/knife shows, the yearly fair of course. We have a new shopping mall and lots of fast food joints as well as many restaurants. We don't have a lot of homeless people laying around on the streets everywhere or holding up signs for money...our churches and our community offer lots of help to avoid that. I feel safe to let the kids play in the yard, although mine are grown now, but I'm expecting my first grandbaby in April. Thank God for the blessing to come. Welcome to our town, hope you find it to your liking. We also have a small lake that they have been improving that has picnic areas, camping, and music stand by the water, usually on Sunday's (I think), and fishing...oh yeah, we have mosquitoes too (sorry)...maybe your new neighbor to be... teresa
