I-40 thru Arkansas
My folks are going to driving out to Vegas next week, from S.C. Their planned route is to go through AR on I-40. Have the rains affected any parts of that ?

Not here in Arkansas..... You may want to have your parents call the State Troopers office to check for sure....

I can assure you right now from Amarillo to Las Vegas the weather is perfect if you consider 100 degrees perfect? How far will they go tonight? I assure they don't plan to drive all the way to Vegas.

Boy I am glad they weren't going to drive that far, even from Albuquerque it is one heck of a long drive. Hopefully they will spend the night tomorrow in either Flagstaff or Williams and do the Grand Canyon trip. It is something everyone should see once in their lives.

I talked to them last night. They ARE going to go to Flagstaff today. And goof off around there for the rest of the day. (Tons of stuff to do. Indian ruins and such) Then do the Canyon all day tomorrow. They've been to Grand Canyon. But they have my 11 and 13 year old girls with them. And the time I took them to GC it was too foggy to really enjoy it. I hope they do the glass skywalk while they're there. (I really want to, myself) Then be in Vegas Thursday in the afternoon probably. Not that far to Vegas from Flag. And we'll have some good ole' Vegas July weather waitin when they get here. 110-113 all weekend !!

We do the Vegas trip about twice a year, ususlly spend the night in Flagstaff or sometimes drive to Laughlin. I am afraid of heights so don't think the glass skywalk would work for me: our neighbor wants to give it a try.
Hope you girls are having fun with grandma and granddad; we took our grandkids on a similar trip when they were about that age; instead of GC we did Zion. Those same kids are now, 1 married living in OKC city and has a baby of her own, the other is a senior at the University of Ar. Time goes by too fast.

And I'll bet you are SO VERY PROUD !!
Time does go by too fast. I haven't seen my folks in 2 years. And it's been since last summer since I saw the girls. I want to just go meet them in Flag and do it all with them !! Especially the glass walkway. But we'll have the rest of July together. I can hardly wait.
Thank you so much, Nita, for the conversation. I will keep an eye out for you on the CD Forum. Thank you, again. And God bless.
