Building my Arkansas family tree
Hi everyone!
I'm building my family tree for my dad who is 76 yrs old now (still doing great) but I'm really stumped on a town he say's he was born in. My family's roots date back to the 1700's in Arkansas, our last name is Kelley. My great grandfather's name was Giles Augustus Kelley and was born in Pike County. He later died in Delight AR. This is where I'm stumped:
My dad told me he was born at home 1931 and he swears that the town was called Mauldiu. He say's he doesn't remember what major town it was near, and asked if I could find some info on it. We'll I'm hoping there's someone wonderful out there in AR who has the answer, because I'm not having much luck. I can't find a town, or city called Mauldiu, but I think I found Mauldin?
If you know the answer ( as I pray you do ) would you give me info on it?
I'm guessing it's a very small farming town? My family's roots are from farming. Is there a city web-site, or anything I can gather for furthur knowledge?
