My roommate and I are relocating down there with her kids and my son, very soon, within the next week to El Dorado, AR, but we have no place to live, i keep looking up information on rentals in the area, and i don't get anything but foreclosures and houses for sale. can someone please give me some info, the internet will not help me at all!
we are pretty set in our decision to move to El Dorado, we really like the look of the area and the good words we have seen typed, we like the small-town feel (we currently live in Montana) because it seems like a great place to raise our kids, a 12-yr-old boy and two 3-yr-olds, a boy and a girl. Any and all information is welcomed!!

well, after doing some research, my roommate and i chose el dorado mainly because of the small town feel and look, and, having been born and raised on an island, i like small. i am currently applying for jobs in and around the city, hoping to get into something in the sales and/or secretarial field. my roommate has family of her daughter in hope, and we do not like the lack of resources there. we want to be somewhere with quite a bit of resources for single mothers with young children, and somewhere ethnically diverse, seeing as i am hawaiian/chinese/japanese/caucasian mix and her daughter is bi-racial and she is very atimate about her daughter being around other african american descendants.

I was raised there, I still have lots of family there so I return often.
El Dorado is on the decline, it is not growing nor is it progressive.
businesses are leaving there, not coming there. Murphy oil is the only bright spot in the county.

It will be difficult for you to find a job there, what you do find will be low paying. The city is very "clickish", tough to get in if you dont know anyone.
Im sure someone who lives there will be along shortly to trash me, but it is what it is.
I would suggest you look at other cities.

we are pretty set in our decision to move to El Dorado, we really like the look of the area and the good words we have seen typed, we like the small-town feel (we currently live in Montana) because it seems like a great place to raise our kids, a 12-yr-old boy and two 3-yr-olds, a boy and a girl.
