Bentonville is a more conservative town, great for people raising children. Still has a small town feel. It's in a "dry" county meaning no liquor stores. Fayetteville is a college town. Not extremely conservative. As for chicken farm smell, stay away from Springdale and parts of Rogers. Good luck!

I live in Rogers and moved here from Florida over a year ago. I spend alot of time with my girlfriend who lives in Bentonville and I travel to Fayetteville sometimes for shopping or to eat out. I gotta tell you I havent dealt with too much chicken smells. Like they said in other post, that would be more out east in Springdale. I think both places have their own advantages. Bentonville is more small town with Walmart Home office standing behind it. Fayetteville is a college town with more things to do. Personally, I like the people in the Bentonville area more. I think they are nicer. Also, you have a nice new mall between Rogers and Bentonville and they are building a big museum in Bentonville. So I think you should come and visit so you can make up your mind for yourself. Everyone has a different opinion.
