We are interested in moving our business to Mena, Ar next year? We heard a little of the good and bad parts of it? Could anybody give us the straight and narrow?

I lived in Mena for many years and still have family there. If you will send me a Direct Message with your email address I will be happy to answer any questions and add my points of view. Here on this public Forum there will be people immediately jump in here talking about Bill Clinton, the Contra, and drug smuggling. Those who talk the loudest know the least. So, send me a DM and I'll be happy to give you the facts as I know them.

I think there is only one part to Mena. I had friends who lived there and liked it, but it probably isn't big enough to break it down into different areas.

There is an unusually high level of interest/activity about Mena on here for a small town. Guess they're doing something right over there!

Both of my parents where born there. I thought my dad was born in Tulsa for a long time, I didn't find out he was born in Mena until recently.

I saw the movie Leaves of Grass recently, it actually happens mostly in southeast Oklahoma but I thought it captured the general areas culture reasonably accurately. I remember driving around on dirt roads with my dad, you actually do have to be careful about stumbling onto somebody's marijuana crop, they can be booby trapped apparently. Not that everyone is into it, I never saw one but I guess it does happen.
One of the main characters in the movie grows weed for a living. The movie has scenes in Tulsa too.

It's pretty but I rarely have any reason to go there so I don't know to much about Mena specifically. They were advertising flying lessons at the airport the last time I drove through.

I wonder if P.C.T. is trolling? I never heard from him/her.

No offense intended. "Trolling" is when someone posts a query just to get things "stirred up" and they are never heard from again.

Good luck with Mena. It is a great little town and I would be happy to move back there if circumstances permitted. Please let us know what you find and think about it.

just wondering, are you from Pahrump NV? We almost retired there 10 years ago. I am glad we didn't. Nothing against the town, I am just glad we didn't.
