Gay Arkansas
I'm looking to move to Hot Springs, Arkansas from California. I was wondering what it was like for the gay community there. I'm moving there because of my boyfriend, he wants to move closer to his parents. I can put up with a lot of dirty looks and a few words thrown I live in a Bush town right now. It has been recently getting worse and the sooner I move the better. Thank you

Tylorfull...
On May 7, a lesbian couple asked the same questions you are...here's the title of the thread, I don't know how to do that link thing'
How about gay a longtime gay female couple moving to North Central Arkansas?
Just do an advanced search in the Arkansas forum for those key words and the thread should come up.....or you can look by poster bardy98
I think it might answer many of your questions....I think the NW corner of the state and around Eureka may be a better choice for you, but of course you will have to figure that one out for yourself as to whether Hot Springs is your kind of town...please come check it out! No sense in living where you aren't happy...there's a large gay population in Little Rock as well...you'll find your niche, and don't let the naysayers tell you otherwise!

I've spent a fair amount of time in Hot Springs and really like the place.
Is it going to be the ideal place for a gay person to live?
Probably not, but it certainly has a history of tolerance and is pretty diverse.
As far as I know, there is no gay community in Hot Springs to speak of, but it's a friendly, pretty town that does have an increasing number of artists. I don't live in Hot Springs but do own some land there, and it's my theory that whenever there's an influx of artists and gays and lesbians, it usually results in higher property values, so come on down, and bring your friends.

Ira, thanks for your comments! I think it's important to note all the pros and cons....and I think ANYWHERE anyone feels accepted for who they are, they care for their community and their home and become involved in positive change, and THAT'S where we see the rise in property values.
Thanks again - I hope the OP will consider HS as his new home!
