Default Eureka Springs Rental Homes

Hi,

I am relocating to Eureka Springs as soon as I find a home to rent. I was hoping for a little land with the home, but have had a hard time finding any type of property managers. Everything seems to be for sale and I wanted to rent first before I purchase.

Does anyone know how I can go about finding a rental home on land in Eureka Springs? Does that even exist? I need to work in Eureka Springs so anything within 15 or 20 miles would be O.K. too.

Are there websites where people advertise their homes for rent? If I have to end up going out as far as Bella Vista or Rogers, which one would be the easiest drive to Eureka Springs?

Do all areas of Berryville smell from the Tyson plant?

Do any of the Holiday Island properties have land with them?

I was just hoping to find something not exactly in a neighborhood with all the houses next to each other.

Thank you so much for any information to help me find a home so I can get back to the South where I was raised!

Jill

There are rentals in Eureka Springs, but most of them are not under any property managers. They are private owners who have one to several rental properties, and they just put "to rent" signs up when they are available. Per your question about Bella Vista/Rogers, Rogers is more accessible to Eureka Springs, but I would not go that far. Garfield, Gateway, Holiday Island and Berryville would be the furthest I would live and work in Eureka Springs. During the tourist season, traffic is terrible in and out of Eureka Springs. How much land are you wanting? In Eureka proper, you will probably not find many properties with a lot of land. Eureka tends to be very steep hillside.

Berryville doesn't smell bad at all. There might be times when the chicken farms or processing plant do have an odor, and if you're downwind of them you might get a bad whiff, but I'm regularly in and out of Berryville, and I'm more likely to get a bad whiff from roadkill on the highways heading in, then to smell anything having to do with the poultry industry.

As regards getting away from neighborhoods, I would tentatively recommend checking with some of the realtors in Garfield. Even if they don't have rental properties, they probably know of some rentals in the area that might suit you. As you get in towards Beaver Lake, there are many rentals, but they are set up as vacation rentals and don't have any land.

Try Craigslist. Go to the "Fayetteville" section of Craigslist, look under Apt / Rental Properties, and type in Eureka Springs in the search box. There will usually be a few that pop up, and I remember at least one that was on small acreage.
Best of luck.
