Let me rephrase that:

If you google "things to do in Bentonville" the highlights are not very exciting. Compton Gardens, Walton 5 and 10, War Eagle, Museum that isn't open yet, etc. That was my point. If this stuff is your cup of tea then that is great. Again, for me it is not.

I totally respect that it's not your cup of tea. The objection I had was in your assertion "no nightlife". There are things to do at night all around the area. In April I went to see the Arkansas Philharmonic perform Mozart, I've been to a couple Arkansas Naturals games, I checked out the Mountain Music Festival, I've been to a couple of movies, I've had dinner out. There are things to do, and a range of things to please people. I've also lived in larger metros, and the only real difference is that Northwest Arkansas doesn't have a major league franchise, hence the enthusiasm for the Razorbacks, and doesn't have many national headliner groups here to perform concerts. I'm fine with the concerts we do have. I'm not going to go to a Lady Gaga concert or to a Britney Spears concert. There are some groups I would love to see that will never come to Northwest Arkansas, but even if I lived in Chicago or Boston, I'd probably never get to see those bands, because the shows get sold out so fast. I can drive and have driven to Dallas or KC to see things. It's not like people who live in Minneapolis-St Paul or St Louis don't drive to Chicago to see things.

"No nightlife" is my opinion. People who are coming here for opinions can discern whether or not I am worth listening to. You yourself even stated it was good to have a difference of opinion to help balance things out around here.

Debates and roundtables are good. Not bad.

I do think we need to have room for opinions here, both good and bad. But I don't think "no nightlife" is an opinion. It's an assertion, and an assertion that's easily debunked. If you had qualified it, then I would have not taken issue with the assertion. But you stated it as an absolute, so I felt compelled to challenge you. I recognize that there are limitations to what Northwest Arkansas has to offer. But it does a pretty good job of offering what the local population can afford and is willing to support. And it's well located so that there is access to larger metro areas for those of us who have larger, more diverse interests.

you know all this about nightlife, I wonder where necraven got the idea the Op was even interested in nightlife. As I mentioned way back, if he had been following the OP he would probably realize this doesn't seem to be the type of information that was being sought.

Am interested in your perspective of the area and Shadow Valley....by your comments that it is a "DIFFERENT" world, it sounds like it hasn't been a great experience for you.

Very interested to hear your perspective before deciding whether or not to take the job!

I think we have pretty decent weather here, considering we really do have 4 distinctive seasons.
